St Thomas' Hospital, London, UK. 10th September, 2015. Members of the public together with medical staff, emergency services and patients current and past take part in a service in the garden of St Thomas' Hospital to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the first bombing of the hospital in the Second World War on 9th September 1940. Despite extensive bomb damage, both Guy's Hospital and St Thomas' Hospital remained open throughout the war, treating casualties from across London. Incredibly, no patients were killed by the bombing of the hospitals, but 10 members of hospital staff and 2 firefighters lost their lives at St Thomas'.
