Marble Arch, London, UK. 1st September, 2015. The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, inspects a number of commercial vehicles on display at Marble Arch as part of the launch of the UK’s first Safer Lorry Scheme. Under the new scheme, most vehicles which are currently exempt from national legislation for basic safety equipment will have to be retrofitted to drive on London’s roads. This includes construction vehicles, which are involved in a disproportionate number of fatal collisions involving cyclists and pedestrians.
