Farkhunda_Vigil_London_Lee_Thomas-13.jpg
Trafalgar Square, London, UK. 29th March, 2015. A large crowd takes part in a vigil in Trafalgar Square, London, in memory of a 27 year old Afghan woman who was beaten to death by a mob in the centre of Kabul last week. She was accused by a mullah of burning the Qu'ran but all she did was to tell him that his business of selling tawiz, small scraps of paper with religious verses that are supposed to be powerful spells, was against Islam. Farkhunda was beaten to death, burnt and then dumped in a river by a mob in the Afghanistan capital. Pictured: A sympathiser of Farkhunda shows her support for the vigil by wearing face paint. // Lee Thomas, Flat 47a Park East Building, Bow Quarter, London, E3 2UT. Tel. 07784142973.
